Biography: Lieber Po-Hung Li was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. His team is the first one in the world publishing articles about the safety/feasibility and impedance/ECAP of initial mapping within one day after cochlear implantation. He received MD degree from School of Medicine and PhD degree from Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan. He is now the Director, Department of Otolaryngology, Cheng-Hsin General Hospital, and Associate Professor, School of Medicine, National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan. He also served as a reviewer in many prestigious journals including Laryngoscope, Audiology and Neurotology, and Otology and Neurotology. The focus of his clinical practice includes cochlear implant surgeries, hearing loss, and tinnitus. His team won the honor of Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) in 2017 for the 6th times from the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry, Taipei, Taiwan, for the item of cochlear implant surgeries. The focus of his research includes central auditory plasticity of hearing loss by using functional brain imaging techniques such as magnetoencephalography (MEG), music perception in cochlear implantees, noise reduction strategy for cochlear implant device, bimodal performance in hearing loss, benefits of cochlear implant in single-sided deafness (SSD) and/or asymmetrical deafness, and electrophysiological responses within 24 hours after cochlear implantation. His publications on the MEG response of hearing loss were ranked as the first 2% by Faculty of 1000 (F1000) in their library in 2012, and identified as being of special interest to the progress in the Psychology field by Psychology Progress team in 2013.
